1. Nama Peak mountaineering trip facts

1.1 Q: How difficult is the Nama peak mountaineering?

A: Nama peak is located in the remote area of Gongga protection zone. Travelers need to trek a long distance to base camp and as there has technical mountaineering section, it takes hours to reach the summit. Therefore, travelers have to acclimatize altitude and do daily exercises. 
Nama Peak is an entry-level technical mountaineering. It requires certain physical strength and climbers need to take some physical training several months in advance. During mountaineering, technical equipment is required. It is suitable for those climbers who have experienced in snowy mountains. 
In addition, Nama Peak is relatively easy to climb compared with those mountains over 5500 meters in Gongga area. It is said that Nama Peak is the significant step for you to conquer other technical snow mountains in future. 

1.2 Q: What are the requirements for Nama peak mountaineering tour?

A: Travelers aged 14-65 years in good health without hypertension, heart disease, respiratory diseases and other diseases that are not suitable for high altitude activities are acceptable to attend Nama peak tour. Medical examination report,including ECG, blood pressure, blood routine, chest X-ray, is required within six months before applying for climbing registration.

1.3 Q: Can I participate the Nama Peak mountaineering if I don’t have any outdoor experiences?

A: It is not recommended to attend Nama Peak mountaineering if travelers don’t have any outdoor experiences. Travelers without any outdoor experiences can try some entry-level peaks such as Siguniangshan mountaineering activity.

1.4 Q: Can I participate the Nama Peak mountaineering if I don’t have any high altitude experiences?

A: Traveler can participate this tour if he/she doesn’t have any high altitude experiences, because everyone has different reactions to altitude. However, it is recommended to take a trip to high altitude areas before mountaineering Nama Peak.

1.5 Q: Can minors participate the Nama Peak mountaineering?

A: Except requirements for Nama peak mountaineering tour mentioned above, minors need to be accompanied by a guardian, and the guardian must sign an additional agreement.

2. Preparation:

2.1 Q: What is the altitude and temperature during mountaineering?

A: The altitude ranges from 2900m to 5588m. The temperature is relatively low with large difference day and night. The campsite temperature is among -5℃-5℃ and will be changed according to weather conditions.

2.2 Q: What kind equipment do I need to prepare?

A: There is an equipment list and you need to prepare according to list.

2.3 Q:Is there any recommended physical training plan?

A: We recommend preparing for physical training at least 3 months before mountaineering. Endurance training such as running and swimming, and strength training such as weight-bearing squats and pull-ups are suggested. Training time is 30-60 minutes per day depending on personal situation.

2.4 Q: How to prevent altitude sickness? Do I take drugs such as rhodiola in advance?

A: Altitude sickness is the natural response. As long as the body is in normal condition, there is no need to take special "prevention" measures. We recommend arriving 1-2 days in advance to acclimatize altitude, and we have arranged two days for training courses. It is not suggested to take drugs for intervention.

2.5 Q: What is the best time to climb Nama Peak?

A: There are two best time periods to climb Nama Peak each year. One is from April to June and the other one is from September to October. Nama Peak will enter its rain season from June to September yearly, especially in July and August with a lot of rain-fall. From January to March and from November to December, the wind is strongest. Besides that, there has only two periods left, that is from April to June, from September to October. So most of mountaineering team will choose these two best periods to climb Nama Peak.

3. Arrangements

3.1 Q: Is there any pick up service in Chengdu?

A: After you arrive at Chendu Shuangliu airport, you need to call hotel to pick you up at Chengud Shuangliu airport and it is free. Otherwise, you need to pay by yourself.

3.2 Q:What if I feel serious sickness during the mountaineering?

A: We will monitor everyone’s physical indicators, such as heart rate and blood oxygen. We will use emergency oxygen to assist the team to evacuate if needed. In addition, a pre-departure courses will be arranged to explain related knowledge, which will also help everyone to effectively prevent altitude sickness. Please pay attention:
